Watching Death

Watching Death

He sits silently next to me

Both hands forever placed

Upon his pale face

Counting the minuets

Until I glance in his direction

Once more to see

That sadly for him

Time is frozen.

The agony of moving time

Steals the power from his round steal heart

Making him look dull and tired

All I can do is sit and watch

As he slowly loses his rhythm

Each tick and click

Coming slower than before

His death is imminent

Until a new heart is placed

Within his chest.
